Brecon Cani-Trail 2020 - 24th April - 26th April - EVENT FULL!
**BRECON CANI-TRAIL 2020**
24th April - 26th April - IMPORTANT THURSDAY 12th MARCH 20.15hrs
It is with a heavy heart we have come to the decision to postpone the Brecon Cani-Trail event scheduled for the above date.
The main reason for this is due to the escalating Covid -19 (Corona virus) Pandemic and the UK moving into the "delay" phase which will only get worse in the next few weeks.
Tonight in the briefing the PM, Chief Medical Officer and Scientist stated that the UK is 4 weeks behind Italy.
With the event 6.5 weeks away we would expect to be in the heart of it, with it estimated that the peak be after the event - so you do not have to be a medical expert to work things out.
Whilst it is not the biggest event in the UK (292 registered) It is the biggest dog running event to take place in the UK and the first of its kind over Mountain Terrain so we do not want to take any rissk both to you, our volunteers along with any loved ones.
There is also the fact that there will be a hell of a lot of people camping, in caravans and in campers etc - If you have not been to the site we will be on top of each other and although it is outdoors people will be mingling and socialising afterwards along with food and beverage vans etc
WHERE DOES IT LEAVE YOU AND YOUR ENTRY?
You will automatically have a place in the scheduled event 23rd - 25th April 2021.
Please we are not getting into discussions on refunds as on entry this was always no refund or changes on entry and especially if you entered via the payment plan.
I have contacted the National Trust on dates and meeting with the landowner tomorrow morning to confirm.
We have the Cani-Trail Mountain Challenge on 30th May - 31st May (Near Cardiff) and although this is not as big as Brecon in Terms of Elevation etc its still a tough one.
This at present will be going ahead as its 4-5 weeks after the Brecon Event.
We will offer a discount to anyone entered into the Brecon event.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED THEN PLEASE DO NOT ENTER YET AS WE WILL SET THIS UP WITH SiENTRIES AND ANNOUNCE NEXT WEEK IF NOT SOONER.
We will also be offering a series of Four (4) Recce weekends throughout the year that will be free of charge for camping etc These will be guided and a mixture of running / trekking.
Details of these will be posted next week and will be on a first come, first serve basis and of 40 maximum.
The idea will be that if you cannot get on one date you could get another to train and see what its like.
Our October Cani-Trail event is also not bieng changed and this will go ahead as planned with an amazing amount of people entered into the 22 mile with their dogs.
Whilst its not what some people would want to hear and we will not please everyone with this decision, I personally have been trying to hold off as much as possible but I believe that this is our best and only option in these unprecedented times.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
And thank you for your support
